Dating Software Design

One of the most important things about starting a dating software or social software site is the design of it. Back in the old days, huge flash intros were hot and to misquote Paris Hilton, flash intros today are “NOT HOT”. Seriously, they suck. Not good. Don’t do it. You will lose members.

You see, dating scripts sites used to try to wow members with creative flashy shock and awe but today’s online dating site members just want content. If you can’t reach content within a couple clicks, you have just lost that traffic and your dating software site has just become obsolete. That is not good my friend.

When designing a dating software site remember a few things. No flash intros. No flash headers that stay the same and refresh on each page load. That is so annoying. Keep your dating software site content up front and by that I mean, keep blogs, members, forums, groups, ads and other text rich things within one click of it all. Having a header that has these links is key to keeping dating software site members engaged.

Another important thing to remember when designing your dating software design is to keep images to a minimum. Try using style sheets when designing your dating software template. Using a style sheet for your dating software will cut down on the load time of your pages. This is because images are bigger in size that using style sheets. Control it with a style sheet.

Design your dating software template with neutral colors or use colors that resemble your site theme. Don’t go hog wild with crazy bright colors. The webs most neutral colors are light blue and light orange. Never stray too far from your color scheme. Photoshop has a great too for choosing the lighter colors of a given color. So be sure to take advantage of that and use them in your dating software site style sheets.
