We have reviewed the top dating software and social community software providers and have added some quick reviews below. Each provider is rated with anywhere from one to five stars with five stars being the best and one star being the worst. Quick note, you must stay away from Abledating. They are known for ripping people off. I have listed them below so if you are thinking about Abledating, think again. Read the review on them as well as what the BBB has said about them being scammers.

Wazzum.com – They are a dating software and social community software provider out of Portland, Oregon. I’ve looked at their dating software demo and it looks really cool. I really like their web 2.0 look and I love the price. Coming in at just under $300 dollars it’s a pretty good deal for the money. The Admin Area is very easy to navigate and has some interesting features like Username Rollover that shows you that users IP Address. The best thing I like is that they have a phone number and they actually answer it. They also offer a hosting package that is really affordable. Check out Wazzum Dating Software.
Overall Review: Great looking demo, great support and a great price.

eMeeting – eMeeting has been on the dating software scene for quite a while and their new Community Software 8.0 looks really good. I’m really quite impressed with how they have designed this software. While I haven’t had a chance to check out their support service, I have done some research into their company and their dating software/community product and so far it would appear that they’re pretty good. Check out eMeeting.
Update: We are getting some complaints that this company is slacking on the support calls. We have tested that theory and as of writing this update we have gone 3 days without getting a reply to our support request. The phone number goes to a answering service that can’t give out any information. More info as I find it.
Overall Review: It’s just an OK piece of dating software and from what we can tell and what customers say, the support sucks.

Interactive-Arts - Otherwise known as DatingSoftware.biz. It is owned and operated by Dylan Fox out of Sweden. This dating software is on the expensive side of the price spectrum and I personally do not like the design templates. Support can be slow at times from what we hear. They do have a video converter included with the software but it requires FFMPEG to be installed on your server and that’s hard to get in a shared environment. Check out Interactive-Arts.
Overall Review: It’s a decent dating software package.

PHPFox - If you’re looking for a cheap and UGLY piece of social software then checkout the PHPFox product. Their template sucks and we get a lot of emails from people that say they don’t answer their support tickets. They are also a European company. They have been around for a while and their age kind of shows itself. You would think with age comes grace and wisdom, not here! Check out PHPFox if you want to.
Overall Review: This is just OK software and I would recommend it if the support and templates were better.

Boonex - Boonex.com, the old AEWebworks.com site is a free dating software and social software application. It’s a decent application but if you want to modify the look and feel, good luck. It’s very difficult. The support also is not good because it’s free and they get hundreds of support request a day. You might go months before you get an answer and if you want a bug fixed, good luck. Also, because it’s free there are literally thousands of them out there and they all look the same. You will also pay to remove all the Boonex links and banners from the site and that can set you back about $800 dollars a year and more if you want them all removed. They do have a version that is supported called SmartPro Pack but it cost over $1000 dollars. This company has gone and made something that can be quite simple into something that is absolutely insane to try to figure out. Their code makes NO sense at all. You have crap everywhere and it’s almost impossible to find where things are located.
Overall Review: Although it’s free, I do not recommend it.

ASPNetDating - If you are looking for an easy to use yet extremely powerful solution to create successful dating sites for yourself or for others, then Asp.Net Dating Software may be just what you are looking for. Do know that this is ASP and not PHP. So, loading times will be slower due to ASP being slower than PHP using MySQL. Check out ASPNetDating.
Overall Review: From what I can see, it’s a decent piece of software if you are into ASP scripting.

Webscribble - The software is just OK. They are NOT the nicest people on the phone and I’ve heard from a few people that they have actually hung up on customers. They are from New York, so what do you expect. Check out Webscribble.

Alstrasoft - Their main product is eFriends which is a social software script. Not many bells and whistles to it. It’s got a few bugs in it and the interface is kind of crappy looking.

AbleDating - BEWARE – Otherwise known as ABK-Soft.com, a Russian company. Do not buy this dating software or social community software. It is full of bugs and these guys will NOT give you your money back even though they offer a 30 day money back gurantee on their website. Once you buy it, you’re on your own. We have had so many complaints about this software and it’s company. Over 46 complaints and growing. We tested this theory and purchased a copy of their software and true enough, it did not work and we did NOT get any help whatsoever, we tried to get our money back and were NOT successful.
This company created their own fake review site to give fake feedback from fake buyers claiming their software was the best on the Internet. Don’t be fooled. You will loose $595 dollars if you buy this software. Dimitry, the owner, is notorious for scamming people into buying his buggy dating software. Be sure to read my post about how we are in the process of documenting all the fraud cases as well as our own and will be handing the report over to the Federal Trade Commission about this company.
If you have some doubt about this company and don’t want to take my word for it, simply go to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and read the report that they put out. They give this fake company a “F”. Here is the exact quote from the BBB. “We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.”

SKADate – SKADate is yet another crappy dating software provider based, in all places, Kyrgyzstan. I have my doubts about this software’s functionality. The price is one of the most expensive ones I’ve seen. I particularly didn’t care for the dating design templates or the flow of the software. I’ve heard more than a few complaints about this company not giving support or refunds. If you have had a issue with this company, let me know.

VLDPersonals – It has come to our attention that this company has stolen copyrighted text from a reputable dating software provider. They have stolen the text right off the web site and used it in their press releases as well as using that stolen text while promoting their dating software product on countless dating software script sites.
We approached this company and they denied doing it but when they were faced with numerous URL’s, facts and proof, they simply wrote it off as no big deal. I do not promote dating software providers that I feel have lied, cheated or even stolen in order to sell dating software.
They claim to be from Canada but a whois on their domain name quickly turns up a hidden domain which means they don’t want people knowing who they really are. See, you can pay about $10 dollars a year to hide your domain registration and that is what they have done. They don’t have a phone number and my assumption is that they are somewhere in Russia or Eastern Europe.
We also have heard from affiliates of vldPersonals that they don’t pay. Affiliates are people that promote/sell their social software or dating software product on other websites. One case in point is that an affiliate of vldPersonals made a few sales and vldPersonals shut down their affiliate account and then refused to pay them saying that they violated their terms. Some of the more scrupulous social software and dating software providers do this. This is really sad because the real dating software and social software providers suffer from it. It’s sad that a few bad apples can ruin the whole bunch.

DatingBiz - Otherwise known as DatingBiz.biz. This is really a cheap dating script. The price is only $75 dollars and if you take a look at the demo you’ll see that it’s not even worth $10 dollars. The company domain registrant shows a South African address. They are also not very quick to reply to questions. One question took 6 days to reply to and when I asked why it took so long, they never replied back. Even the sales questions go unanswered. It seems that they only want you to buy their software with no questions asked! LOL. I do not like this dating software at all.
Overall Review: Not worth $75 dollars. Don’t recommend it.

DZOIC - Otherwise known as DZOIC.com. This is really a crappy software with a video option. If you want all the extra modules, then their going to cost you. To get the video modules as well as installation, it’s going to cost you over $800 dollars and that is just stupid! Totally not worth it. When a site doesn’t put a phone number up for sales or support, then you can pretty much guarantee that you will have problems otherwise, why not give people the option to call? Makes no sense unless you’re in a Eastern European country. You also need Flash Media Server to run some of the video apps and that is going to cost you even more. Yeah, this software is complete crap!
Overall Review: Not worth it and I don’t recommend it.

DatingSiteBuilder - Good luck getting your data when you want to leave. This company houses all your data then the second you want to leave with your data, you’re screwed. They say that they give it to you but they don’t. This is yet another Russian scammer company that tricks you into buying their product and services. They don’t respond to support emails and their product is full of bugs. We have heard from over 20 of their clients in the past 2 months and it’s always the same. They suck. If you do own it, then go into your admin area and copy and paste your member info into a spreadsheet so you at the very least have their usernames and emails. Those can be handy when you want to purchase a different dating software package from a REAL company.
Overall Review: Not worth it and I don’t recommend it.

I bought Vldpersonals software and the admin had so many bugs that I asked for it to be fixed and they did not respond. I then asked for a refund and they didn’t respond to that either. I did get my money back. So, I do not recommend them.
I bought Skadate and I would never buy it again. Lots of bugs in it. I did get my money back so that was a plus. Their support kind of sucks too.

I tried emeeting they do not provide 24/7 support. I am in the USA and it was defficult to get quick responses to support issues. I think, They are based in the UK.
Yes, they are located in the UK but we are starting to get reports from people that are saying that they are not in the UK and that they are in Russia somewhere. I am still researching that part of the company. I will post more info when I get it.

I came to this site after many hours trying to find a unbiased review about dating software, as i want to start a business….But I am more confused now!
The comment was done after I did the review. I have a certain criteria for posting reviews and they don’t come after one negative comment. I am in the process of communicating with the eMeeting dating software company and have yet to hear back from them. If I do not get a response in 24 hours then I will amend my review. I installed osdate, but it is so full of bugs that I decided maybe I should get something more professional, so I am looking around.
I found one called Datingpro. It seems pretty promising from the demo, but I hope it is not some scam. I see that there are a lot of scamers in this business. very hard to find the right software.
So if anyone out there has any reliable info on Datingpro, I would appreciate if you could share it with me.

Hey, I haven’t added the DatingPro review yet but it was on my list to do. I would not recommend this software for a few reasons. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about their software being buggy as well as no support being issued. This is the same company as Pilotgroup.net. In my opinion it’s complete crap. It’s also expensive too. They don’t focus on dating software, they have other non dating apps they sell and the biggest reason is that they are another Russian company that just doesn’t get it when it comes to support and customer service.

No, it’s a very expensive custom solution and a few people have complained about it. They do not have a demo available and you have to request one. We have been requesting one for 3 months and can’t get one so I really don’t think this company is any good.
You won’t get any support out of that company. Don’t let the demo fool you, it might look good but we are getting lots of complaints about the software being buggy and there being NO support.
I too bought SKADate software. I’ve never seen a crappier package. Took them 5 days to get it installed and when it was installed it didn’t work and it took another week to get it fixed. Then I asked for some small changes and they told me it would cost over 1000 dollars for a text change. Yep, a text change. Another stupid Russian company that is hell bent on ripping us Europeans off. Do not buy Skadate. You’ll just cry if you do.

Yeah, that is complete crap too. Tons of bugs and no support. Lately we are getting a lot of complaints about them but up until now we haven’t done a review on them because they are not what people call a top provider and priced at $299, it’s not worth the money loss. Bottom line, don’t waste your money on that software. I’ve said it many times, looks are deceiving.
So far the best I have tested is Emeeting , but would like to know more about this company. But I am worried that there maybe a lack of support.

I have been using Dolphin for the last 2 years, when it works it is great.But there are too many bugs.
After paying for all the extras for Dolphin.

We get a lot of complaints about emeeting and the fact that they don’t give good support. We have also had complaints about there being tons of bugs in it and with no support it doesn’t really work for people that have it. Keep checking back for more updates in our dating software reviews. We continue to test out all the sites.
I purchased emeeting dating software. Yes, it beatiful and not bad soft…
But more then 5 month I and technical support trying to fix more than 30 bugs… Then, when technical support was expired – I have my bugs and nobody help me, because technical support is only 6 month… Not good
Yes, that is how they get you. You should try a dating software company that doesn’t have a support expiration date. Check out the reviews we have to find a good one. There are a couple that will import your existing site.

SKADate.com – This is a crappy software that has more bugs in it then the rain forest. They do not help you out or stand by there product when they know it has bugs. Everything with them is base on a pay now, solve later process. They put a product on the market that has bugs, you have to pay them to fix what should already be fixed. Even those that are hosted by them have problems, and their site goes down from time to time. They are being supported by “Go Daddy” trying to make it seem like they are available and USA base, but they not. Straight out of Russia. They take up to 3 to 4 days to get things solved, which is all an attempt to make you go over your time limit so you will have to pay again. They made Skadate 6 and came out with a new version, which is nothing like Skadate 7. Any modifications or anything you have done in Skadate 6 will not work in Skadate 7, unless you pay them to do it. Everything is about money and no service. They do not do refunds, so for the member who got his money back, more power too you. I’ve been lied too enough and I really hope someone shuts them down.
Has anyone tried PG DatingPro (Pilot Group) or Portlogic?
Complete crap. They are another Russian company. If you want decent software, decent customer support and good value for your money then stay away from Russian developers. They will only take your money and once that money is sent to them, it’s next to impossible to get your money back.
3 questions: What about dating box by e-marvel? (although they don’t offer source code) Are they still in business? What dating /social networking software would you recommend that supports couples and groups that also has open source code? (Must have open source- Don’t want to be tied to these companies if they go out of business.) Thanks

Seems to me that basically ALL the dating website scripts out there are terrible or have bad service? Looks like the best solution for anyone is to create their own dating site script from freelancers or get a script in where you redu (or have a programmer redu) the scripting to fix all the issues.
I ran a dating site for years that I creeated which was great for the members, but took it offline when it was too much to handle (my mistake now..)
Since this is a REVIEW of scripts.. Is there any scripts out there that people have found mostly reliable other than the ones listed here? Plus what about coding. Is there a dating script that has fully editable php/asp files (non-protected)?
I bought the Wazzum.com software and I really like the fact that Michael Pennington, the owner, is a hands on kind of guy. He helped me with every aspect of my site GoldWingSingles.com. He even helped me setup a word press blog site to help promote my new dating site. Very good software and support. I also like the fact that he is in America.
I think the Wazzum Dating Software is pretty good. I like the live webcam instant messenger and chat. I got ripped off by Abledating and was looking for a good application when i found Wazzum. So far it’s really nice. I like the flow of things. So, i’ll post any problems i see here but for now it looks and works well.
Skadate looks so cool. Does anybody also offer 24/7 phone support like Skadate?

We are hearing a lot of problems from Skadate software owners that they don’t respond to support requests. Their software might look cool but that is the only thing. Their company is a complete joke. They are nothing more than another Russian company that knows NOTHING about customer service.
If you are looking for 24/7 support, check out the American company Wazzum.com. You can also check out DatingSoftware.biz. I prefer Wazzum.com though because they seem to be doing all the right things…
Any comments on Dating Site Builder?
Yeah, it’s crap software. Anyone that sells millions of profiles is just trying to get you to buy their software. Problem is that if you have millions of profiles, they are not real and I’m sure the owner of that original profile might have something to say about their profile being sold all over the net. My guess is that they are pretty much fake so when you have a real member that comes to your site and pays only to get no response from any of those profiles might get pissed off about it. The right way is to grow your dating site from scratch based on real people and real profiles. Not fake ones. You want to be personable with your members. This day in age you have to have a personal touch with your members or they go elsewhere. So, stay away from that company. There are others you can use besides them. Any site can add a forum and create fake posts. Abledating does it all the time. They have a fake review site. Wazzum is not a advertiser here. I use their dating software for my own dating site as well and promote other dating software providers. Wazzum just is at the top of the chain because they do so much more right than the other ones. I hate Russian scammers and VLD is nothing more than a Russian scammer. I’ve heard real stories from people who bought VLD and Abledating and just got worked over by their lack of customer service. Once you start complaining about things, they shut you off. If you have a monthly plan with them then you will never see your data and you can’t convert it to a working software. It’s complete crap. You will find reviews on them at the BBB and Abk-soft.com is a prime example of why you should NOT buy Russian software from a Russian company. You will not get support and you will more than likely lose your money.
I totally agree. Able date is a scam and rip-off. They are teamed up with Host Upon hosting and I can not recommend Host Upon either. There simply is no support. cript is pure nightmare, nothing is working but your money is gone. I even bought their “testimonials and portfolio” -speach as well as “ABK Soft a scam” on their site. They are only making money by cheating their customers.

Every single modification will cost extra and I mean a lot of extra. Say 300 USD for changing your domain host!
They say “Software (shitware) is provided as it is” it is 100% true. You will only get what their demo offer and nothing more! 3D City is a joke of a week. It is only a video showing some 3D virtual world. There ain´t actual 3D virtual world.

I have been researching for about 4 months now on the best dating software script and I narrow it down to datingsoftware.biz. Now based on your reccomendation I am looking closely at http://www.Wazzum.com .. However, I am more impressed about the many features that Datingsoftware has compared to wazzum.. and I dind’t see pay/billing features on the admin side of it…! can you or anyone out there please help me in comparing both software packages?

DatingSoftware.biz is a good product but remember, it’s not about how many features you can pack into a dating software package. It’s about the company, customer service, support and the product. While DatingSoftware.biz is a good product, they are located in Europe and not in the states. That is why I prefer Wazzum.com. They are in Portland, Oregon and have a good product. They are the ones to watch right now. They have version 2.5 coming out next week and I’ve seen the demo for it. Lots more social features as well as new templates.

We have gotten a lot of complaints about their software being buggy. Slow to no support. Can’t independently verify it but the questions to them have gone unanswered about it. They are not located in America so your money might be gone. Email me from the contact page on my site and tell me what your objective is and maybe I can steer you in the right direction.
so for those in or out of the hands of ska date… its proven that ska date is not the answer… they cant even provide there corporate office address. i have two chat logs me asking what is there corporate office address and both where not the same but not reliable… on one chat log it took him about 1 hour for me to get the information after he had actually given it to me but then said it was the po box and later after an hour said it was the corporate office address on my second attemp i tryed the same thing though it was faster they dont seem to know such information righ away and are very unprofessional… if you would like a copy of my chat logs to ska date which are actually funny and unbelieve able call me harsh or anything you wana call me but i got the information out of it but yea if you like a copy of the chat logs for fun or just for laughs then email me and would gladly provide them for you i would post them here but there too long to post sorry
The reason that they don’t give that info out is because they don’t want you to know that they are in Russia somewhere. All the Russian dating software providers are nothing but scammers. They also love posting negative comments about real American dating software providers like Wazzum, Webscribble and others. So, stay away from Skadate and Abledating. Go with American companies because you can get your money back and Americans have to play by the rules because there are so many consumer advocates that can help get your money back. Russians don’t and they could care less.
